Laura Westbury – Assistant General Manager

Laura has been in the hospitality industry for well over 20 years at various levels of employment ranging from server, supervisor, human resources and management within vastly different atmospheres including nightclubs, lounges, private event companies, sports bars and casual fine dining.

Her love for food and service began at a young age in her late teens when she formed her own catering company, making ready-to-eat meals for working parents.  At the same time, she began her serving career as a bartender.

In the late 90’s, Laura returned to London, England and began serving in a high volume West End restaurant and bar.  After serving for a year she became a manager and from there to head office where she did events coordination, human resources and accounts payable.

Upon returning to Canada in the mid 2000’s, Laura began serving again and then moved back into management for a stand-alone Bar and Grill for which she helped with menu development, outside catering and events.

After 11 years it was time for a change so she went to an Italian fine-dining restaurant for two years and after an impending move found herself at Stone House Restaurant in Burlington.

Laura has a strong passion for food, local ingredients and high service standards.  “Dining out is not just having a meal, it’s about making a memory”.
